Monsters move towards the walls and towers at the centre of the board. Players use matching cards to attack them, trade with one another and decide which threats to stop first. The castle survives only if the group clears the attackers before its final tower falls.
The base game allows solo or group play, and includes a Master Slayer distinction within the shared victory. The publisher artwork shown is the second edition, which retains the core gameplay but changes the art.
